Thomas Voegtlin is a computer scientist, neuroscientist, and creator of the Electrum Bitcoin wallet.

Thomas served for 10 years as a research scientist at INRIA. Fascinated by decentralized systems, he researched learning algorithms for recurrent neural networks. Thomas created the Electrum Bitcoin wallet in 2011, after a custodian wallet hack crashed the early Bitcoin ecosystem.

Alonso De Gortari is currently a Product Manager for Economics at Mysten Labs. Prior to this, they worked as a Research Scientist at Novi (formerly Calibra) from January 2020 to February 2022. There, they worked on the synergies between the Diem (formerly Libra) stablecoin and payments, blockchain technology, smart contracts, Bitcoin, Ethereum, decentralized finance (DeFi), and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). Alonso also helped chart Diem’s design in terms of its macroeconomic and financial inclusion goals. From July 2019 to December 2019, Alonso was an Assistant Professor of Economics at Dartmouth College.
